I was one of the Red Tory Joe Clark Conservatives from Alberta. I won a few bottles of my favourite rum from some cocky Liberal appointed judges on a bet Joe would win the leadership at a reception at my law office.
Those were the days! Joe was ahead of his time. His concept of a community of communities, his selfless commitment to community, and many other aspects of his leadership provided mentorship to many of us. Thanks for a great recognition of Joe and his commitment to Canada!
Another enjoyable and insightful one, Allan. Lots of names from the past too! We all know how that progressive/conservative split ultimately turned out however, at least federally, but it’s an intriguing story nonetheless.

Thanks for this one Allan. Quite enjoyed. Lots of familiar names and acquaintances I came to know and work with after the Clark years. Keep 'em coming
